Mary Carol Stunkel, a well-known New Jersey based animal photographer, spent almost 30 years as a video/TV producer/director before returning full time to her forever hobby of photography in 2003, when she started using her ability behind a lens and her love of animals to capture pets in their home setting, just being themselves. “Although I take photos of animals who aren’t addressing the camera, it is the directed gaze that most holds my interest. I don’t look for just cute pets, but furry faces whose eyes are the soul windows through which we see the unprompted yearnings, joy, wisdom and non-judgmental nature of our four legged companions.”

Since 2008 many of those pets have found themselves stars in her card line. If you love animals and want to express just the right emotion, then you’ll find it in a Furry Empathy card, as May Carol’s logo says: “Because their faces say it best.”
